Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-09
01Acceptance & changes
By creating a PartnerUp account or subscribing to a paid tier, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not create an account; if you already have one, cancel via Account → Subscription → Cancel.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes that affect paid subscribers — including changes to pricing, refund policy, the billing-cycle-lock policy, or founder benefits — we will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the platform after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
02Eligibility
To create a paid PartnerUp subscription you must be at least 18 years old. Free-tier accounts may be created from age 13 with a guardian's permission per applicable Philippine law.
One PartnerUp account per person. Shared accounts and account resale are prohibited; we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.
03Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Provide accurate and current information when creating your profile; intentionally false information (including impersonation, fake credentials for coaches, or misrepresentation of a machine listing) may result in account suspension without refund.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Where suspension is for a non-violation operational reason, we will refund any unused subscription time pro-rata.
04Subscriptions
PartnerUp offers a free tier plus a ladder of paid subscription plans for both players and coaches. Paid plans raise or remove the free-tier usage limits and unlock additional features. The plans available to you, their features, and their current prices are shown on the Plans page in the app and may be adjusted over time; the price shown at checkout is the binding figure.
Paid plans are billed on an annual or monthly cycle, as selected at checkout; the Early Access 2-year tier in §9 bills on a 2-year cycle. Every plan has its own regular price, which varies by plan and by the country you buy from, and which is shown at checkout — the price shown at checkout is the binding figure. The renewal, refund, cancellation, and billing-cycle-lock terms in Sections 5–8 apply to all paid plans, including the Early Access sale tiers in §9.
4.1 Pricing currency & taxes
All prices are denominated in USD. Your actual charge will be in USD; your bank or card issuer will apply the prevailing exchange rate at the time of charge. Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, acts as merchant of record and is responsible for collecting and remitting Philippine VAT (12%) where applicable. VAT will appear as a separate line item at checkout.
05Renewals
The Lifetime tier has no renewal — once paid, access is permanent and no further charges apply.
For the 2-year, 1-year, Launch-rate, and regular subscription plans, renewals occur automatically on your billing cycle: the 2-year tier renews every 2 years on the anniversary of your initial purchase; annual plans (1-year, Launch rate, and regular annual) renew annually on that anniversary; monthly plans renew monthly. We send a renewal reminder email 7 days before each renewal charge. For the sale tiers, your locked renewal rate (the 2-year, 1-year, and Launch-rate prices described in §9.1, respectively) applies as long as you remain on the billing cycle you purchased on — see §6.
If a renewal payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds), we will retry the charge and notify you. After 14 days of failed renewal, your account drops to the free tier. You may reactivate at your locked rate as long as you do so within 30 days of the failed renewal; reactivation after 30 days requires a fresh subscription at the then-current regular price (forfeiting the lock).
06Billing-cycle-lock policy
Each sale-tier discount lock applies only to that subscription's own non-monthly billing cycle — every 2 years for the 2-year tier, and annually for the 1-year tier and the Launch rate. This policy is permanent and applies for the lifetime of your account.
If you switch your billing cadence to monthly — from Account → Subscription → Manage billing, which opens our payment provider's billing portal — you forfeit the discount lock for any month billed monthly and pay our regular monthly rate for your plan (shown at checkout and on the Plans page, subject to general pricing changes). Switching back to the billing cycle you purchased on restores the lock automatically with no fee or penalty.
The Lifetime tier is unaffected by this policy — there is no renewal and therefore no billing cadence to switch.
We adopt this policy because monthly billing carries materially higher payment-processor fees and we cannot sustain a permanently-discounted monthly subscription without absorbing those fees. The policy is disclosed at checkout and on the Early Access page.
0714-day refund
You may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, no questions asked. The 14-day refund applies to all paid plans, including all four sale tiers and Lifetime.
After the 14-day window:
- Subscriptions (1-year, 2-year, Launch rate) are non-refundable for the current billing period, but auto-renewal can be cancelled at any time. You retain paid access until the end of the current period.
- Lifetime is non-refundable after 14 days because there is no future renewal to cancel.
Refunds are processed within 10 business days of the request to the original payment method. To request a refund, email support@partnerupsports.com from the email address on the account with "Refund request" in the subject line.
08Cancellation
Cancel from Account → Subscription → Cancel. One click takes you straight to the secure billing portal of our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record), where you confirm the cancellation yourself — no phone call, no chat-with-an-agent gauntlet, no emailing us for permission.
If you bought your subscription inside our iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google is the biller and we cannot cancel it for you: cancel it in your app store's subscription settings. The same Account → Subscription screen tells you exactly where to go.
Effect of cancellation:
- Paid access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- At the end of the period, your account drops to the free tier automatically.
- Cancellation forfeits your discount lock. If you resubscribe later, you will pay the then-current regular price for new buyers; the lock is tied to a continuous active subscription on the billing cycle you purchased on.
Lifetime tier cannot be cancelled in the normal sense — there is no renewal to cancel. Within 14 days of purchase, Lifetime is refundable per §7; after 14 days, your Lifetime access is permanent and non-refundable.
09Early Access sale
The Early Access sale is a temporary, recurring promotion — not a permanent part of our pricing. It runs for a 2-month window from launch in each region we open it in. The sale is available only in the regions where we have launched it; eligible regions are shown at checkout, and your billing location is verified via our payment provider. Because each region is priced separately, an order whose verified billing location does not match the region it was priced for is not fulfilled — it is automatically refunded in full. Regional availability will expand over time.
During the sale window, PartnerUp offers four sale tiers. All sale prices are quoted in USD; our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) acts as merchant of record and collects + remits any Philippine VAT due (see §4.1).
9.1 The four tiers
Every paid plan (including every paid coach plan) gets the same four deals against its own regular price. The amount of each deal varies by plan and by the country you buy from, and exact discount percentages vary slightly with the rounded local price point for your currency; the binding figure is the locked price shown at checkout, not a percentage and not any illustrative figure quoted elsewhere on this site or in our marketing. The four tiers are:
- Lifetime — a one-time payment. Permanent access, no renewals, ever. Limited to 50 spots per plan.
- 2-year — a single payment up front, covering 2 years of access. The subscription then renews automatically every 2 years at that same locked price — a locked discount off your plan's regular rate — for life, subject to the billing-cycle-lock policy in §6. Limited to 50 spots per plan.
- 1-year — a single payment covering 1 year of access. The subscription then renews automatically annually at that same locked price — a locked discount off your plan's regular rate — for life, subject to the billing-cycle-lock policy in §6. Limited to 50 spots per plan.
- Launch rate (Early Access) — an annual subscription, renewing automatically annually at that same locked price — a locked discount off your plan's regular rate — for life, subject to the billing-cycle-lock policy in §6. No cap — available until the 2-month sale window closes.
In every case, the locked renewal price is the price you paid at checkout for that tier: it does not increase if our regular prices rise later.
9.2 Founder caps
Within each paid plan, the Lifetime, 2-year, and 1-year tiers are collectively the "founder tiers" and are capped at 50 buyers each per plan, in each country (150 founder spots per plan, per country). Every country has its own separate caps, and they deplete independently of each other and of one another's tiers; once a tier's 50-spot cap is filled for a plan in a given country, that tier closes permanently for that plan in that country and may not be reopened. If an order is nevertheless placed against a tier that has already closed — from an out-of-date link, for example — it is not fulfilled: it is automatically refunded in full. The Launch-rate tier is uncapped and remains available until the sale window closes; it is not one of the capped founder tiers and does not carry the three founder benefits in §10 (the Founding Member badge, the roadmap input channel, and first pick of new sports). Like every paid tier, it does include full app access across iOS, Android and web, plus the permanent locked rate.
After the 2-month sale window closes, new buyers pay the regular rate for their plan, as shown at checkout. Existing buyers from any of the four sale tiers retain their locked rate forever, subject to the billing-cycle-lock policy in §6.
10Founder benefits
Every paid tier — including the Launch rate — includes full app access across every platform: the PartnerUp apps on iOS, Android, and web, tied to your account, at the plan level you purchased. That is what you are paying for, and it is not a founder benefit.
In addition, buyers in the Lifetime, 2-year, or 1-year tiers (the founder cohort — up to 150 spots per plan, per country, per Section 9.2) receive:
- A permanent Founding Member badge displayed on the user's PartnerUp profile and visible to other users.
- Access to a private roadmap input channel where founders vote on which features ship next.
- First pick of new sports rolled out post-launch — founders get to onboard before general availability for each new sport added.
The Founding Member badge is non-transferable and tied to the original account. If you cancel + resubscribe later, founder benefits are permanently lost and cannot be reinstated regardless of prior status.
The Launch-rate tier does not include the three founder benefits listed above — it provides full app access plus the permanent locked rate. It does not carry the badge, the roadmap channel, or first pick of new sports.
11Free tier
The free tier is always available with no payment required. Free users get access to almost all of PartnerUp's core functionality — including a player profile, level/skill rating, swipe-match for partner discovery, booking coaches, renting ball machines, joining sessions, and offering a limited amount of your own coaching — subject to usage limits.
Paid subscriptions raise or remove those limits and unlock additional features such as listing your own ball machine and the advanced coach and machine-owner tools (client management, analytics, and more). The specific limits for each tier are shown on the Plans page in the app and may be adjusted over time.
12Coach-specific terms
PartnerUp takes no commission, platform fee, or revenue share on coaching. We do not process, collect, hold, or pay out any payment between a coach and a player — any payment for a coaching session is arranged and settled directly between the coach and the player, outside the platform. PartnerUp's only charge is the subscription fee for the coach tools and player features described in these Terms.
Coaches are independent providers responsible for their own pricing, taxes, scheduling, and the quality and safety of their sessions. PartnerUp is not a party to the coaching contract that forms between a coach and a player (see §15). Questions: legal@partnerupsports.com.
13Machine-owner terms
PartnerUp takes no commission, platform fee, or revenue share on ball-machine rentals, and does not process, collect, hold, or pay out rental funds. Any payment for a rental is arranged and settled directly between the machine owner and the renter, outside the platform. PartnerUp's only charge is the subscription fee described in these Terms.
Machine owners are independent providers responsible for their own listings, pricing, availability, and the condition and safety of their equipment, for their own taxes, and for any security deposit or damage arrangement they make directly with a renter. PartnerUp is not a party to the rental contract (see §15). Questions: legal@partnerupsports.com.
14Acceptable use
By using PartnerUp, you agree NOT to:
- Create fake profiles or impersonate another person.
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk other users.
- Use the platform for purposes unrelated to sports — including dating, romance solicitation, multi-level marketing, or unsolicited business outreach.
- Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile, or otherwise interfere with the PartnerUp platform or systems.
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the platform without our written permission.
- Resell or transfer your account or subscription.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of this section without refund, except as required by the 14-day refund window in §7 where applicable.
15Marketplace transactions
PartnerUp facilitates connections between players, coaches, and machine owners. We are not a party to the underlying service contracts that form between users (e.g. a coaching session contract between a player and a coach is between those two parties, not between either of them and PartnerUp).
PartnerUp does not process, collect, hold, or disburse payments between users, and takes no commission or platform fee on transactions between them. Any money that changes hands for a coaching session or ball-machine rental is arranged and settled directly between the users involved, outside the platform. PartnerUp's only charge is the subscription fees described in these Terms (see §12 and §13).
Disputes between users are first mediated by PartnerUp support (support@partnerupsports.com). Unresolved disputes are subject to §19.
16Intellectual property
"PartnerUp", "TrainUp", "MachineUp", and the PartnerUp logo are trademarks of PartnerUp Sports. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the platform for personal, non-commercial purposes consistent with these Terms.
You retain ownership of content you upload to the platform (profile photos, recap notes, reviews, etc.) and grant PartnerUp a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and serve that content in the course of operating the platform. You represent that you have the right to upload all content you upload.
17Disclaimers
The PartnerUp platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service.
- Specific match outcomes, session or machine availability, or the quality of services provided by coaches or machine owners.
- Specific availability dates for features still in active development. Founder benefits that depend on features or sports not yet released (e.g. "first pick of new sports") are delivered when the underlying feature ships, whenever that is.
18Liability limits
To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law, PartnerUp's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the platform is capped at the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to PartnerUp in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) USD $100.
We exclude liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or substitute goods or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by applicable Philippine law (including, where applicable, liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
19Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Dispute resolution follows a two-step process:
- Support-mediated resolution first. Email support@partnerupsports.com with a clear description of the issue. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve most disputes within 30 days of receipt.
- Court of competent jurisdiction. If a dispute is not resolved within 60 days of your first support email, either party may bring the matter to the Philippine courts of competent jurisdiction at our registered business venue.
We do not require binding arbitration for consumer disputes. Nothing in this section limits your statutory right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate regulator (e.g. the National Privacy Commission for data-protection matters, see our Privacy Policy for details).
